I have always been interested in amateur dramatics and have used my acting talents for small parts in TV commercials, soaps and a few feature films. Ultimately my interest is in people and stories and when I found my voice to write I used that very old piece of advice about ‘writing what you know’. Some of my most successful work has been based on real events and real people, though heavily disguised to protect the guilty from ridicule.

For me, writing started as a hobby; a way to challenge myself and create a new avenue of expression. Suddenly the pieces started to appear on stages in Ireland and, I must admit, to hear a packed room laughing out loud at the lines you have written is an unbelievable feeling and an enormous blessing.
